Creating Safe Spaces for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Two-Spirited and Questioning (GLBTTQ) Youth

 

Overall Goal

Supporting GLBTTQ youth and strengthening their ability to live, learn and love safely

The overall aim of this project is to enhance & increase the capacity of small urban and rural Canadian communities to develop safe environments for GLBTTQ youth with particular emphasis on reducing stigma, discrimination and their vulnerability to HIV/AIDS infection.

 

Objective #1

To strengthen the capacity of small urban and rural communities to develop and maintain safe learning and living environments for GLBTTQ youth by developing bilingual resource tools and establishing multi-sectoral partnerships.

 

Objective #2

To increase the knowledge and skills of small urban and rural community service providers in the development of sustainable, safe learning and living environments for GLBTTQ youth within their communities by providing skills building workshops.
